Beer Can Burgers

200g best steak mince (5%)

2 rashers of streaky bacon

10-15g grated cheddar

1 tsp French's mustard

Crack of black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic granules

1/2 tomato flesh only seeds removed

1/4 onion

1/4 bell pepper

1 tsp hot sauce

1 tsp lime juice

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Pinch of flakey sea salt

Preheat a cast iron dish at full oven heat for 10-15minutes.

Meanwhile, place your mince into a dish with mustard, salt, pepper and garlic, mix very well and then shape your mince into a cup shape using the base of a beer can or bottle, layer the edge with two pieces of streaky bacon.

Dice all of the veggies and add a tsp of lime juice (about 1/4 lime), pinch of flakey salt, hot sauce and paprika. Combine and stir and add into the cup of the burger.

Take out your cast iron very carefully and lay your burgers into the dish - it should sizzle - roast at full heat for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, grate your cheese and mix with just a small amount of French's to combine.

Carefully remove cast iron, top the burger with the cheddar mix and return to the oven for another 4-6 minutes until melted.

Check the burger for an internal temperature of 75C
