World Cancer Day every 4 February is the global uniting initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). By raising worldwide awareness, improving education and catalysing personal, collective and government action, we’re working together to reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equal for all – no matter who you are or where you live.

Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Stereotypes would have you believe that eating disorders are not serious illnesses and that they always take the same form. This is wrong. It has to change.

This Eating Disorders Awareness Week help us put the stories of how people are affected in the spotlight, standing together to demand that anyone affected by an eating disorder is supported, no matter what their diagnosis, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, age or background. Together by raising funds and combating stigma we can change lives.

Nutrition and Hydration Week

Nutrition and Hydration Week has taken place every March since 2012. Its purpose is to bring people together to create energy, focus and fun in order to highlight and educate people on the value of food and drink in maintaining health and well being in health and social care.

No Smoking Day

No Smoking Day is an annual health awareness day in the United Kingdom which is intended to help smokers who want to quit smoking. The first No Smoking Day was on Ash Wednesday in 1984, and it now takes place on the second Wednesday in March.

Stress Awareness Month

Most people will experience stress at some point in their life, but constant or extreme stress is bad for both the mind and body. Stress can be caused by a sudden traumatic event or even just the expectations of daily life

This day marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organisation in 1948. Each year a theme is selected that highlights a priority area of public health concern in the world.

On Your Feet Britain

Encourages workers across Britain to unite together and participate in a variety of fun and simple activities to #SitLess and #MoveMore at work. The On Your Feet Britain Challenge dares you to convert 'sitting time' to 'standing time' by following some simple changes.

National Walking Month encourages people to walk more throughout May. Initiatives include, Walk to Work Week and Walk to School Week.

BNF Healthy Eating Week

British Nutritional Foundation (BNF) Healthy Eating Week. Have Breakfast; Have 5 A Day; Drink plenty; Get active; and try something new.

The UK’s biggest cycle commuting event. Every year since 2012 thousands of enthusiastic riders hit the streets to celebrate everyday cycling. All you need to take part is a bike – new or old – and the desire to ride. You can go solo or be the change your workplace needs and organise an event for you and your colleagues. Whatever you do, however far your ride – have fun

World Suicide Prevention Day

World Suicide Prevention Day promotes worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides. The sponsoring organisation, International Association for Suicide Prevention, the co-sponsor WHO and other partners, advocate for the prevention of suicidal behaviour, provision of adequate treatment and follow-up care for people who attempted suicide, as well as responsible reporting of suicides in the media.

National Fitness Day

National Fitness Day is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping us raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles.

National Fitness Day sees a huge range of activity options enjoyed by participants of all ages, such as ‘plank offs’, yoga and pilates classes, treadmill challenges, high-street HIIT classes, dance-offs, mass walks and many more.

World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December each year. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day.
